Seconds in a day calculation
Since there are 24 hours in a day, each hour has 60 minutes, and each minute has 60 seconds, a day’s worth of time is equivalent to 86400 seconds:
1 day = 24 hours/day × 60 minutes/hour × 60 seconds/minute = 86400 seconds/day
There are 86,400 seconds in 1 day.
Step 2: How to figure out how many seconds are in a day?
There are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour, as we are all aware. We are also aware that a day consists of 24 hours. All of those times themselves give us 86,400 seconds in a day.
60 seconds in 1 minute x 60 minutes in 1 hour x 24 hours in 1 day = 86,400 seconds in 1 day
60 x 60 x 24 = 86,400
